Director, Strategy and Development

JOB SUMMARY

TraPac is a leading marine container terminal operator in the ports of Los Angeles and Oakland California.  The company is completing major expansion projects at both terminals and wishes to change and improve our approach to strategic planning and development. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director, Strategy and Development will work with the executive team to develop and manage the company strategic plans, program development and business growth. 

Work with the CFO to agree critical development projects and capital requirements. Work with the President and CEO and with the commercial teams to further develop core customer relationships and to position TraPac as a preferred supplier and industry leader. The role will engage directly with external stakeholders, including Port Authorities, railroads, trucking companies, shipping line customers and cargo shippers. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

MBA preferred, 5 years in a corporate / development / investor relations role, demonstrated knowledge of project oversight and management

Strong program and project evaluation skills to fully assess risks and to work with corporate finance teams and terminal operations to consider risk adjusted returns for projects. 

Preparation and development of business cases, excellent leadership skills, able to act as a manager and coach in leading the company within a matrix organization and across multiple operating locations.

Financial proficiency, strong presentation and communication skills, proficiency in MS-Office suite of programs, willingness to travel as required.
